Hatch Survey

Upon arrival at a port of discharge of a carrying vessel, our surveyors attend aboard her to inspect the conditions of her hatches, holds and cargoes, and certify the status of the cargo at that time.
If damage is found by this survey, our surveyors investigate the cause and the extent of the damage to clarify who is liable among the parties concerned and scrutinize insurance matters.

Cargo Loading and Stowage Survey

Our surveyors hold a survey on the conditions of the cargo before and during loading as well as on the adequacy of stowage and, in case of need, make recommendation and guidance to the parties concerned to ensure the safe carriage of the cargo, and issue a report for certification.

Draft Survey

For bulk cargo such as coal, iron ore and steel scrap, our surveyors attend aboard a carrying vessel and check her draft before and after discharging or loading to work out the weight of her cargo and issue a report to certify it.

Damage Survey to Cargo

When a cargo is found damaged, our surveyors look into the cause and extent of the damage and make recommendation on loss minimization, which will be helpful to applicants in recovering losses from underwriters and/or carriers.

Final Survey and/or Damage Survey on Ship’s Hull, Engine, etc.

Our expert surveyors hold a survey on ship’s hull, gears, engines, appurtenances, equipment, etc. when damaged by sea casualties (collision, stranding, heavy seas, fire, etc.) and other causes (careless operation, etc.) to clarify the cause and extent of the damage, and if necessary, estimate the amount of repairing charge and recommend the specification of repair.

Delivery Survey (On or Off Hire)

In case of charter or sale of a vessel, our surveyors hold a survey on her hull, cargo gear, engines, boilers, equipment, appurtenances, fuel oil, water, etc. for certification.

P&I Damage Survey

Our surveyors make a survey on the cargo damage due to heavy weather (cargo collapse and sea water damage) and improper handling to clarify the cause and issue a report for certification.
Our surveyors make a survey on the third party or the third party property (port facility, fishery facility, etc.) when damaged by crew’s negligence in operation to clarify the cause and extent of the damage, and issue a report for certification.

Seaworthiness and Towage Survey

We have also been appointed by the Hull Insurers to attend towage surveys. Our assigned towage surveyors hold a “seaworthiness” survey on a ship in distress or wreck, dredger, floating crane, barge, etc. to be towed and make pertinent recommendation to ensure its safe arrival at the destination.

Valuation of Ship, etc.

Our surveyors make a survey to evaluate and appraise a ship and a barge, etc. in cases of collision and general average, and also, in connection with their sale, demise, mortgage, dismantlement, registry, etc.
A wide range of clients including courts of justice, Marine safety Agency and other governmental and municipal offices, steamship companies, insurance companies and banks, have contracted us with this valuation survey.

General Average Survey

Our experienced surveyors act as general average surveyors to ensure their cargo worthiness and make recommendation on the manner of repairs with estimation of the repairing cost.

Container Survey

Our surveyors hold a condition survey of freight containers to ensure their cargo worthiness and make recommendation on the manner of repairs with estimation of the repairing cost.

Vanning Survey

Our surveyors make recommendation on the proper manner of stowage when stuffing cargo into a container to ensure the safe transportation of the contents.

Condition Survey

Our surveyors hold a survey on an exporting cargo to ascertain whether it is in accordance with the sales contract, whether it is in good order and condition, and whether it is pertinently packaged.

Steel Condition Survey

Sometimes heavy claims for rust damage and/or bend damage occur at the destination to a large quantity of steel goods exported abroad. To cope with and prepare for such claims, our experienced surveyors hold a minute condition survey for verification purposes upon loading steel goods onto a carrying vessel at a port of shipment.

Other Activities

Besides the above mentioned surveys, we are engaged in the condition survey and sampling of various cargoes including “machinery”, “plant equipment”, “perishable goods”, “food stuff”, “grains” and “sundry goods”.
